Use 3 dishes: 1 pellets, 1 water, 1 fresh food

 PELLETS:   Kaytee Exact Rainbow---

                                                               *Cockatiel

                                                               *Parrot

WATER:  Fresh water everyday

 

Fresh Foods:

 Vegetables- any variety, cooked or fresh

Fruits- Apples, oranges, peaches, grapes, bananas (let the bird peel them)..no

           seeds or pits from fruit! 

Grains: Pasta (cooked or raw), rice, bread, cereal (no chocolate), crackers

Eggs: eggs and shell, both cooked well

Table food: anything healthy, no cheese, chocolate, milk

Seeds: Use as treats or for training, should not be soul diet!

Cuttlebone

Grit or Oyster shell: a pinch or so once a week, aids in digestion

Favorite Munchies: Corn on cob, popcorn, pizza crusts, dried chicken bones

 

DO NOT GIVE: chocolate, cheese, avocados, poisonous plants, treated                                       

Lumber, lead (paint, fishing weights), iceberg lettuce (no nutritional value)

 

MY VEGI MIX:

                      Cook pasta and rice till done. Put frozen vegis, corn and                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            beans (pinto, lima etc.) in colander. Pour pasta and rice over Veggies, mix and rinse well. Drain and store in frig for 5 days or press in                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          cube trays until frozen, then pop out and store in Ziplock bag in freezer. (make a month worth!!) Serve frozen or thawed

 

I feed this as a base everyday. To this I add fresh vegis, fruit and something from my “dry food bag”. Always dispose of fresh food before it spoils.

 

Dry Food Bag: save all crackers, healthy cereal, (nothing choc.) etc. Mix and store in ziplock bag.
